I mentioned watching God Grew Tired of Us last weekend.
If you haven't seen this, put it on your list now. And get to it fast.
This clip is heartbreaking and hard to watch. It is so unbelieveable that this happens in our world in our time.
This clip is also unbelievable. Try to imagine for a minute going from a tent camp in the African desert to an apartment in Syracuse or Pittsburg. What a foreign world. You are suddenly expected to assimilate into something you never knew existed. While once you thought of nothing but hunger and survival, you now walk into a grocery store with more food than you could eat in your lifetime.
But the end is the amazing part. To see how far they have come, and how committed they are to changing their world. It's not a story about lost boys making good in America. It's about heartache and courage and hard work and remembering your past and changing your future. And it's good.
